On the corner of Hans Jensen Stræde and Bangs Boder there is a small, yellow house with mullioned windows and a red roof. Hans Christian Andersen is thought to have been born in this handsome old building, on 2nd of April 1805. The house now houses the Hans Christian Andersen Museum. Peter and Anna, the two children walking along with a sledge, have been out to fetch the Christmas Tree and to buy a few final presents. They are really looking forward to Christmas Eve, but first the Christmas tree will have to be decorated and they are being allowed to help for the first time.
