S T Hopper was established in Boston, Lincolnshire in 1926 by Stanley T Hopper, the son of a Yorkshire jeweller who came to Boston in 1920. His policy was “quality first” and the name Hoppers quickly became a familiar one throughout the county for reliability and value for money. The store prides itself on the care and professional advice offered by its staff. As a renowned diamond specialist, its range of diamond and gem set jewellery in both gold and platinum is extensive. The business was taken forward by Stanley’s son Gerry, who expanded to a larger premises and more central location in the historic Market Place, close to the famous Boston Stump. The building got a ‘modern’ make over and proved to be a huge success. After 50 years in the jewellery trade, Gerry finally retired from the company in 2001. This left his sons Tim and James to maintain the high standards of S T Hopper Ltd along with the very experienced and loyal staff known as ‘Team Hopper’ who have over 50 years experience in the jewellery trade between them. The staff members are all very familiar faces as they have been part of the team for many years so plenty of friendly, skilled experience at hand to help each and every customer. The company remains an independent, privately owned business that offers unrivalled service and expertise in all aspects of the jewellers trade.
The picture above shows the shop is it looks today after a recent refurbishment made possible by Clarke Group Construction Ltd. We decided to go for a beautiful, traditional look complete with a brand new tiled floor to match the vintage exterior. This was a long, painstaking process done by a very clever man called Jim. Great work Jim!
