Let's take another trip down Memory Lane......
This week's post is for Hopper Shoppers who love original fixtures and fittings and retro items! Take a look at our original picture of our shop stairs taken in 1969.
We had many pictures taken of the shop when we moved from Strait Bargate to our new shop in the Market Place (as featured in another Memory Lane article!) In the picture you can just make out a light reflecting off one of the mirrored tiles. The lighting sadly cannot be seen from the shop floor, the lights are only seen if you go up the stairs to what was our 'showroom' located on the next floor. The Showroom display cabinet stretched across the whole floor full of clocks, porcelain and tableware (some of you may remember this?!) We had our showroom until the late 1970's, being turned into an office area instead. One of the treasures found on the way up to the Showroom were 2, 1960's triple globe pendant lights. Believe it or not we still have these very lights today! Very retro and very cool and both sets can be found in the same position 53 years later! They certainly don't make them like this anymore so we thought we'd show you all as Hopper Shoppers don't get the opportunity see them these days.
We still have 2 sets of these original retro pendant lights from 1969
